Prilla Psychiatric Care

FAQ

Yes, I am in-network with many major insurance carriers. Depending on your current health insurance provider, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. Please contact your insurance provider to verify how your plan compensates you for mental health services. I’d recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:

  • Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
  • Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
  • Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
  • Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?

Yes, I am currently only seeing patients through tele-health that are physically located in Illinois at the time of the appointment.

I see patients ages 10 years of age and greater.

My specialty lies in women’s mental health, with a particular focus on perinatal health. I am certified in this area and have pursued postgraduate studies in treating mental health and substance use disorders during pregnancy and postpartum. Furthermore, my expertise extends to infertility counseling and addressing sexual dysfunction.

In addition to my specialization, I also provide treatment for a broad range of general psychiatric conditions. These include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, OCD, and schizophrenia, catering to both adult women and men.

A psychiatric metal health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who specializes in mental health care, providing a range of psychiatric services to patients. They are qualified to diagnose mental health conditions, offer psychotherapy, and prescribe medications. PNPs work in various settings, including hospitals, mental health clinics, and private practices, playing a crucial role in the mental health care system.

The initial psychiatric evaluation is crucial in determining what treatment plan is appropriate for you and is unique to each individual. I strive to work together as a team with my patients to ensure a treatment plan that is safe, effective, and satisfactory for mental health goals. Please note: For Illinois patients I may prescribe controlled substances when clinically appropriate. I have chosen not to include controlled substances into my practice for patients located in Kansas due to geographical location and the safety of my patients.

Yes I offer standalone therapy visits. In addition, for patients who desire and qualify for medication management, I combine both pharmacological and psychotherapeutic approaches during follow-up visits which includes “mini” therapy sessions or focused therapy during.

Absolutely! I am committed to offering a supportive and inclusive space for individuals from all backgrounds, ethnicities, religions, and orientations.

The appointments are conducted similarly to Facetime or a Zoom meeting. However, we use a private, HIPAA-secured connection to make sure your medical information is protected. You can use a phone or any device with speakers and a camera, but you must be on the internet and have a strong WiFi connection.

Medications will only be refilled for current patients who maintain their regularly scheduled appointments. It is your responsibility to make follow-up appointments. This is a solo practitioner practice, and filling medications outside of appointments is discouraged, and you will be charged $50.00 if it is repetitive. Refills must be requested at least 3 business days before running out of medications. Under no circumstances will medications be refilled after hours, on weekends, or holidays.
